David Adjaye and his colleagues will return to Hamilton on Sept. 26 to continue discussions of the proposed ����ý Center for Art and Culture. At this second public meeting, Adjaye plans to share some preliminary architectural ideas and talk about how tentative plans for the project are progressing.

The meeting is scheduled for 6:30–7:30pm in the Class of 2003 room on the third floor of the ����ý Bookstore.

Adjaye’s August 15 “meet and greet” at the Barge Canal drew a lively cross section of arts enthusiasts from ����ý and the Hamilton community. In the Q&A period and while mingling with guests, Adjaye talked about his strategy for the art center to create new connections and opportunities while respecting and enhancing the historic fabric of Hamilton.

Adjaye Associates, an internationally acclaimed practice with extensive experience in creating unique cultural spaces around the world, was chosen in July from among 12 firms that responded to ����ý’s request for proposal (RFP), which called for “a distinctive and stirring architectural solution” for 18-20 Utica Street, the former site of Parry’s Hardware, a building now owned by the Hamilton Initiative.
